ARC Day Hab Trainer - Part Time

Salary Range:$13.00 To 14.15 Hourly

•The ability to function effectively as a team member with employees in Site Based Habilitation services and throughout the Center. 

•Requires the ability to: work closely and positively with peers, the local authority, family members, advocates, contractors, etc.; conducts self in a positive and professional manner; completes quality documentation; excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

•The ability to plan, coordinate and implement individual and group activities. Work involves, but is not limited to, planning, organizing and implementing daily and after hour’s activities for consumers of Adaptive Recreation Center. 

•Knowledgeable of, and following, all HHSC program guidelines.

•This position is required to become knowledgeable in Special Olympic sporting rules and regulations as well as attaining volunteer coaching certifications and maintaining these certifications. Involves training individuals for Special Olympic sporting competitions. 

•Responsible for completing necessary paperwork for all individuals on your caseload daily.  Duties are performed under supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices, with some latitude for the exercise of independent judgment. 

•Flexible work schedule will be 1-3 days a week, 20-24 hours, but must be flexible to work special evening/weekend activities. 

•Must be able to drive 15 passenger vans in heavy traffic areas for field trips such as to the DFW area.

•This position might be required to provide transportation services for the program for those individuals who qualify. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•High school diploma or equivalency. 

•Experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred. 

•Must possess a current Texas Driver’s License and is an insurable driver. 

•Must possess basic computer skills. 

•Ability to lift 55 pounds per PMAB requirements.
