The Abilene Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Abilene and the Development Corporation of Abilene, is pleased to announce the inaugural State of the Community and Economic Outlook Luncheon to take place on February 9, 2022, from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm at Abilene Christian University’s Hunter Welcome Center.
This event aims to prepare business professionals with an economic forecast for 2022 from renowned, engaging economist, Dr. Mark Dotzour, as well as provide two panel discussions with remarks from the Development Corporation of Abilene CEO, Misty Mayo, and Abilene Mayor, Anthony Williams, on the state of our community’s economic development efforts.
“The Abilene business community is poised for success,” said Mayor Williams. “Abilene has a thriving economy, and through collaborative efforts with our public, private partnership, the future is only getting brighter. I look forward to sharing the City’s perspective on how we continue to band together to make sure our Abilene is good enough for all of us.”
Dr. Dotzour served for 18 years as the Chief Economist of the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University. This will be the second year in a row for Dr. Dotzour to speak to the Abilene area business community. Dr. Dotzour’s research findings have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Money Magazine, Business Week, and more.
