Respite Trainer - Swing Shift

Hours: Tuesday - Sunday, 40 hrs a week flexible. Mondays & Wednesday off, 1/2 day Tuesdays
Salary: $13.28 - $14.44 per hour; d.o.e.; will be eligible for a one and two year step increase, depending on satisfactory performance

DESCRIPTION

•Works directly under the supervision of the IDD Program Administrator for Adaptive Recreation and GR Services.
•This position is responsible for providing out of home respite and crisis respite services to adults and children receiving services from the IDD Respite Center Program.
•Hours are Tuesday-Sunday, 40 hrs a week flexible. Mondays & Wednesday off, 1/2 day Tuesdays
•This position will work closely with family members and Service Coordinators to meet the individual's needs.
•This position will be required to comply with the funding source requirements and standards and must be able to work under pressure and in stressful situations in a professional manner.
•This position will work in planning activities to encourage individuals and families to access the respite program, community services, assisting with household chores and medication monitoring.
•Transportation of consumers may require using your personal vehicle.
•Must be able to drive 12-15 passenger van.
•Required to work a minimum of 1 on-call rotation monthly.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalency. Experience working with persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is preferred. Must possess a current Texas Driver’s License and is an insurable driver. Must possess basic computer skills. Ability to lift 55 pounds per PMAB requirements.
