Performs entry-level custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc. Work involves cleaning and caring for Center buildings and premises, replenishing supplies and applying chemicals as appropriate. Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned. Works flexible hours – up to 25 hours per week. Some weekend work is possible.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Must be able to reach and use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, balance, twist, squat, kneel crouch, or crawl. Effective audio-visual perception is required. Employee may be exposed to air contaminants, confined work spaces, dirt, electrical hazards, temperature extremes, noise, and toxic materials. Position requires frequent lifting and/or moving objects up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 100 pounds.
Qualifications:
•Experience in custodial work.
•Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is preferred.
•Experience and education may be substituted for on another.
•Experience in building maintenance and janitorial type services preferred.
•Responsible for complying with set safety standards.
Monday - Friday, 5 pm - 10 pm, up to 25 hours weekly, flexible
Will be eligible for a one and two year step increase, depending on satisfactory performance.
