Whether you're here to learn something new or just love a good conversation, Pub Talks is for you. "The Most Beautiful House in the World" Architect Brandon Young invites us along on a personal journey: designing and building a house for his family right here in Abilene. Taking inspiration from Witold Rybczynski's book of the same name, Brandon explores the emotional, aesthetic, and practical questions that arise when you ask, "What is the most beautiful house?" Brandon Young, AIA, LEED AP, is a Partner and Director of Design at Parkhill, a regional architecture and engineering firm. His experience covers a broad range of project types, including institutional, commercial, mixed-use, and multi- and single-family residential. For 14 years, he taught architecture and design at Abilene Christian University's Department of Art & Design earning tenure and promotion to Associate Professor. Brandon currently serves as a board member for the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council and a commissioner for Abilene's Landmarks Commission. Bonus for attendees: Our Pour-Your-Own Beer Wall, located inside The Blakeley, is 20% off during Pub Talks! If you’re attending the event, just grab a card from the bartender up front to activate the wall. Beer is charged by the ounce. ($30 refundable card deposit required) Come early for food and drinks, stay late to keep the conversation going. See you at Pub Talks.
