DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for providing out of home respite services to adults and children receiving services from the RB Evans Respite Center Program. Hours are Saturday and Sunday 16-20 hours a week, but flexible to work various shifts. This position is responsible for providing out of home respite services to adults and children receiving services from the RB Evans Respite Center Program. This position will work closely with family members, Service Coordinators and Behavior Support personnel to meet the individual's needs. This position will be required to implement and follow behavior support programs for those individuals requiring such interventions. This position will also work in planning activities to encourage consumers and families to access the respite program, community services, assisting with household chores and medication monitoring. Transportation of consumers may require using your personal vehicle. This position will be required to comply with the funding source requirements and standards and must be able to work under pressure and in stressful situations in a professional manner. This position may be required to assist with Special Olympic activities. May be required to carry a rotating pager after hours to assist in handling emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalency.
Experience working with persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is preferred.
Must possess a current Texas Driver’s License and is an insurable driver.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Ability to lift 55 pounds per PMAB requirements.
